Burn Baby Burn

Every day looks gloomier, and gloomier when you look at the world of politics. I guess I am looking for a country set in a world of utopia but, as I wrote in a previous blog, there is no such thing as utopia. There will always be mistakes, miscalculations, and the inevitable upper crust people greed. Greed is one thing but being overly greedy is too much for me. However, there are those that are mindless about all of this and want the rest of us to fall into the same fire that has engulfed them.

I am thinking about all the problems our country is mired in and there seems to be no end to any of this. Especially when there is a faction that wants to unravel what is good and decent and only wants to cause discontent. When you add the craziness of some of these people into the mix, there is nothing but chaos and either nothing gets done or there is a slowdown of everything. Then again you add into the mix liars that are only out to destroy everything.

There are many things on the table that need to be resolved including the abortion issue, the Supreme Court issue, our conflict with China, Russia and, in minor form, some other countries. Add in humanitarian aid to several countries and aid to many states in this country. There is still a big border problem which is not going to go away any time soon. Yet, there is a blockage in Congress to get the money to resolve some of this plus we have the upcoming debt ceiling deadline.

Thinking about the upcoming debt ceiling deadline, I cannot see why Republicans want to cut money to our military, especially VA (Veteran Administration) hospitals, when they have said they wouldn’t. They want to cut employees from the VA as well as funding. How can we care for our injured vets (we can barely do it now) with fewer personnel and less money? Who would want to join our military knowing that if they get injured care is not a priority?

Looking again at the Supreme Court and I see a court I would not want to handle my case, if I had one, because I would know they will decide on which way the money, politics, and friendship flow. This is the highest court in the country, and it is so tainted that being corrupt is the lowest I can think of without using a cuss word.

The country is on fire, and we are all burning in the flames that are thrown in our direction. As the perpetrators of this mess will burn in hell for continuing to cause this, those that condone this mess and are attempting to drag others into this mess will burn also. I wrote about this in my other blog www.faithingodministries.net and I see it all coming true. The devil needs more fuel for his fires, and we are supplying it. Souls will add to the fuel, and I do not want any part of it. There is so much more I could write but I do not want to write a book. We all will burn because of this fiasco. Burn, baby, burn.

In Retrospect

We are in the age of retrospect, or we are quickly on our way there. All we must do is look at what is happening and what was happening not too long ago. This is happening across the entire spectrum, especially here in the United States. I will not investigate every facet of the situation because I am sure I will miss something, but the handwriting is on the wall. Let’s look at some of this.

The biggest item in the news is about abortion. Looking back, women did not have a way to have an abortion and had to carry the baby to term. The man always wanted a male heir and most female babies were killed. Women did not have a say into anything, and they were not educated. This is still found in most Muslem countries, and their religion wants it to spread to all the other cultures. The woman must stay home to cook, clean, care for the children, and do whatever the man tells her to do. The USA have not taken away ways for the man not to have children but have caused ways for women to have children. This is a regression, not a progression.

Then there is a caste system among the have and have not. Congress refuses to do anything about the millionaires and billionaires paying their fair share of taxes. They even get better treatment in the judicial system. The middle class cannot afford or barely afford food, housing, vehicles, gasoline, or time off to recharge their bodies. The country that has a large caste system is India although most countries have it in some way. Everything costs more and more because the wealthiest of people want more and more.

Many years ago, most people could not read or write and what was written had to be approved before it was released into the public realm. Now they are saying there is too much sexuality in books and people should not be exposed to it. Does that mean the Bible? In the Bible you’ll find incest, homosexuality, murder, etc. Will the Bible be banned next? Children can read and the Bible is not hidden from sight. Some of the most well-known books in the world have some form of forbidden material in them. It is ludicrous to rewrite well-known material, cover well-known statues, remove works of art because someone think it is vulgar.

We are a people that supposedly abide by laws written by and for the people of this country. These laws are to apply to all the people however there are some people (in the highest caste?) that feel as if it doesn’t apply to them. When I look at the Federal Government (including the Supreme Court) I see quite a few believing the laws do not apply to them. This was the way it was for untold centuries. They make the laws for us, and the courts and law enforcement enforce them upon us and not upon them.

These are just a few things (and there are a lot more) that come to mind when I think how we are going backward instead of forward. Modernization means nothing. I’m gonna get on my horse and wagon and move on down the road. I’m too old to fight this any longer. I fought for civil rights and now I’ll let the younger people take over. I hope they are up to the task.

What About Abortion

There is one schism in the abortion issue. Is it the right of men to dictate to women on what to do with their body? Then it can be asked, is it the right of a woman to demand that another woman do or not do something to their body? Does a woman have the freedom to say what they wish to be done to their body or must they concede to what another wish? These are the questions to be asked. These are the demands a law be passed to secure those wishes be legal with a penalty for it not being done. I have been through this and, at the time, asked myself those questions. Back in the eighties, when my unmarried daughter got pregnant (she was seventeen at the time), we sat down and discussed the situation. We talked about the pros and cons but, in my mind, the final decision was hers. She decided to have the child and that was that. Her body, her decision.

Now we are on the cusp of the overturning of Roe v Wade. Older White men want to decide what a woman legally is to do with her body whether she agree or do not agree. There are women that are fearlessly saying they want a law to stop abortions. All of these people are saying it is killing a child, a human. They are saying it does not matter if it is rape, incest, medical or whatever, it should not be done. They want the doctors and aides jailed and fined. They want a person that aided the person by telling them of a way to have the procedure done and the person that provided the transportation to have the procedure done be jailed and/or fined. There is even a bounty in several states for the information about the culprits.

There is not a law telling men not to procreate. Some men, after they impregnate a woman, get lost and is never seen again. Some continue to procreate time and time again although they can not afford to do so. Some men say a man must impregnate a woman to say he is a man. Is this what the assembly of men and women that make the laws or the men and women that adjudicate the laws are saying?

We knew this was coming when the Republican party stacked the judicial system with mostly unqualified (at least suspect) MEN and hinted at what would be happening with Roe v Wade. It should not be a surprise. Now, all we can do is wait for the results from the fruit of the labor from the extreme right. I wonder what would be said and done if there is a law sterilizing men.  It takes two to tango, but the woman is the one that must bear the pain and care for the child. Will the government finally step-up and provide the help that is needed for the care of the child? The right has voted down the needed help time and time again. This is only the beginning because I believe we will be fighting for and against this for many years.

I Have My Rights

Do I want my freedom and my rights? Yes, I want racial freedom and my rights but that is a small part of what I want. I want what the radicals want. Pacifically, the freedom to not wear a mask. Wait a minute. Is that what I really want? The (I will call them radicals) radicals say it is their right to do whatever they want to do, including to not wear a mask. To make others not get an abortion. Let us look at this a little more and let us pretend I am one of the radicals.

I have the right to be free to do what I want to do because this is a free country, and the government should not tell me what I can or can not do. Putting it that way, if I do not want to stop at a traffic signal it is my right to continue through it. The government made that rule and if I feel I do not want to abide by it then I will continue through without stopping.

I have the freedom to drive the streets and highways as fast as I want to drive. They made the vehicles to speed at an enormous rate then it is my right to buggy down the road however fast I want to go. I did not make the law therefore I do not have to abide by it. Get out oof my way.

If I do not want to wear a mask, then I do not have to. The doctors are quacks, and they cannot control my body nor control my life. So what if it is to protect others. I do not care about others. I am told it will help protect me, but I have a strong body and will not catch whatever the hoax of the day is. Prove to me it is not a hoax.

I do not want the vaccine. It is my right (freedom) not to take it. It was an emergency experimental drug. So what it is now FDA approved. My ex-president said I can take certain poisons to rid my body of the hoax, to poison whatever ails me. Those doctors are quacks and I know better than they do. I will take certain animal medicines because it helps them and will help me also. Others say not to take animal medicine because it may kill me or, at least, make me very ill. Who are they to say this? They are not doctors. Oops, doctors are quacks. Who should I listen to?

What I have written is satire about the COVID-19 pandemic and people not taking one of the vaccines. I believe in most of the doctors (there are a few I would not recommend treating my dog). As far as wearing a mask is concerned, I have worn worst, and it is better than wearing all the apparatus that is given when you are in the hospital with the virus. It will then be too late for the vaccine, horse medicine, or saying you are sorry and will do whatever needs to be done.

Rights are fine, to a point. Many laws were written to protect you as well as others. The great majority of laws were written not to harm people but to help the populace. I have rights but only to a certain point. Not to abide by the laws or FDA approved medications given by a medical school trained doctor, will bring harm to me and others. I am making a plea for people to take one of the vaccines and wear a mask. People are dying (including children) every day because they enforced their right not to wear a mask and did not take one of the vaccines.

I’m Back

It’s been a few weeks since I last posted because this is the beginning of the warm season. I say ‘warm season’ because it starts a little later for some. If you are south of the equator, it is the beginning of the cool season. No matter, I was away on a cruise and had a good time. There was a couple of reasons my wife and I decided to take this early cruise, it left from Norfolk, Va. (twelve miles away) and it is just before the hurricane season. The other day, I saw on television that there is already one named storm in the Atlantic Ocean, but it will turn east and not strike the USA east coast.

This was our first time sailing with the Carnival Cruise Line. We normally travel with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and what a difference. We’ll stay with Royal Caribbean from now on. However, we went to Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Freeport. All three stops were great. We have been to Nassau and Freeport before. We love those areas, in fact, we love the islands and try to go as much as possible. The one island I love the most is Puerto Rico and would love to live there.

We returned to the USA, spent a few days taking care of business at home and, the following weekend, off again. That is what being retired is all about. Come and go at will. No clock to punch. No cares except where to go next. We have three major places to go to (that I am aware of. There may be others that have escaped my memory) this year. I just love being retired.

One of my old military outfits is having a get together in California next month. Unfortunately, unlike what I requested of them, they gave short notice on the date of the reunion and we have something in that time slot that we cannot undo. I was stationed in California; my daughter was born there but my present wife has never been there. I would love to show her my old base and other things. Maybe we’ll go on our own. I know everything have changed since I was last there and it would be a refresher for me.

Since I have been incommunicado for three weeks, I see the political scene is really heating up (or should I say, getting hotter). The most shocking thing is the abortion laws being put into place by the southern states (I don’t remember any northern states being listed. I may be mistaken). This make it seem like secession all over again only, this time, against women. It is not a civil war although it is a war waged by Trump and his loyalists. Being that it is a war against women will make it a bitter fight. There are also the people called to come to a congressional committee, but they are refusing to appear (ordered to do so by Trump). Now there is all three branches of government involved.

Well, I am back, and I will attempt to put out my weekly blogs, but with a few lapses here and there, it’s the warm season and we’re retired. We have places to go and fun to have. I’ll leave you with a half dozen pictures or so.
