I Have My Rights

Do I want my freedom and my rights? Yes, I want racial freedom and my rights but that is a small part of what I want. I want what the radicals want. Pacifically, the freedom to not wear a mask. Wait a minute. Is that what I really want? The (I will call them radicals) radicals say it is their right to do whatever they want to do, including to not wear a mask. To make others not get an abortion. Let us look at this a little more and let us pretend I am one of the radicals.

               I have the right to be free to do what I want to do because this is a free country, and the government should not tell me what I can or can not do. Putting it that way, if I do not want to stop at a traffic signal it is my right to continue through it. The government made that rule and if I feel I do not want to abide by it then I will continue through without stopping.

               I have the freedom to drive the streets and highways as fast as I want to drive. They made the vehicles to speed at an enormous rate then it is my right to buggy down the road however fast I want to go. I did not make the law therefore I do not have to abide by it. Get out oof my way.

               If I do not want to wear a mask, then I do not have to. The doctors are quacks, and they cannot control my body nor control my life. So what if it is to protect others. I do not care about others. I am told it will help protect me, but I have a strong body and will not catch whatever the hoax of the day is. Prove to me it is not a hoax.

               I do not want the vaccine. It is my right (freedom) not to take it. It was an emergency experimental drug. So what it is now FDA approved. My ex-president said I can take certain poisons to rid my body of the hoax, to poison whatever ails me. Those doctors are quacks and I know better than they do. I will take certain animal medicines because it helps them and will help me also. Others say not to take animal medicine because it may kill me or, at least, make me very ill. Who are they to say this? They are not doctors. Oops, doctors are quacks. Who should I listen to?

               What I have written is satire about the COVID-19 pandemic and people not taking one of the vaccines. I believe in most of the doctors (there are a few I would not recommend treating my dog). As far as wearing a mask is concerned, I have worn worst, and it is better than wearing all the apparatus that is given when you are in the hospital with the virus. It will then be too late for the vaccine, horse medicine, or saying you are sorry and will do whatever needs to be done.

               Rights are fine, to a point. Many laws were written to protect you as well as others. The great majority of laws were written not to harm people but to help the populace. I have rights but only to a certain point. Not to abide by the laws or FDA approved medications given by a medical school trained doctor, will bring harm to me and others. I am making a plea for people to take one of the vaccines and wear a mask. People are dying (including children) every day because they enforced their right not to wear a mask and did not take one of the vaccines.

I Do Not Understand

The thinking was that by now America would either have extraordinarily little COVID or, at least, be in a herd immunity state. Not so as of now. That is why, when I see or hear of the many people that refuse the vaccine, I ask why? I am retired military and have had my share of shots, seldom knowing what the shots were for. I also remember taking the polio sugar cube when I was in junior high school. I did not turn my back on taking the sugar cube because I knew of the iron lung and did not want to be in that position.

               In my childhood, whooping cough, measles, chicken pox and more was the norm until doctors had shots for that and more. Young people today live in an era that is free of a lot of diseases that were normal during my young years. I did not have to look hard to find someone that have been affected by one or more of these illnesses. I have had a couple of these, and I am still here. I took my shots, and I am still taking shots.

               What I do not understand is why people see what have happened when a person become ill with COVID and still do not want to take the vaccine. I do not understand the medical workers not wanting to take the vaccine when they see what happens when a person become ill without the vaccine verses what happens when they do get the shots. I am perplexed about the whole thing.

               I have seen news film clips of people that have the virus, laying in the hospital and either still believe the virus is a hoax or still say they do not believe in the vaccine. There was one clip where the sick person was asking for the vaccine and as the person was told it was too late, they started to cry. I do not understand why they did not take the shots when they had the chance.

               Why is taking the shots politicalized the way it is? When the shots have saved millions of people, why are people making it political? I do not understand why people lives are sacrificed for a political win and the people that are the sacrificial lambs still believe in them. What will these lambs gain from this? I would bet every dime I have that these politicians, that are loudly talking against the vaccine, have taken it willingly.

               I have always thought the doctors, nurses, teachers, etc. were smart people. That is why I do not understand this resistance in taking the vaccine. Now besides the variant-D virus there is another on the horizon. If the people continue to act in the way they are we will never rid ourselves of the virus and, unfortunately, there will be another lockdown, fights because of it, and many more deaths. I do not understand why people want to take the chance of death when they have the chance to continue to live. Maybe I am missing something, I need enlightenment.

Together We Stand

Many times, I have heard the words ‘together we stand, divided we fall’. Those words are truer than most people think. In any combat situation it takes all members of the operation to come together as a unit to survive. If a member decides to go it alone the entire unit is in jeopardy of dying. With the unit fighting as one, there is a good chance that the unit will survive.

               There are two major situations before the citizens of the United States, and both need our immediate attention. COVID-19 and The President of the United States. There are people that do all the precautions, up to and including wearing masks to prevent and stop the spread of COVID-19. The other is the present man in the White House inciting the siege on the U.S. Capitol. In fact, both concerns greatly involve the President.

               The President have told everyone that listens to him that the virus is a hoax, bleach and other things would clean the body and cure the virus, stimmed information on what is happening and what to do about the virus, not to wear masks because he was not going to wear a mask, and many other untruths about the virus. Those people that reported the truth or leaked truthful information were fired. This was from our President and the Republican party, his underlings, and his followers did as they were told and did not try to stop nor correct him. Everything that is happening is on them as much as it is on him.

               Sedition and conspiracy against the United States of America is the worst thing I have ever seen and heard in my lifetime, except in third world countries. I saw and heard the President tell his base, that were present for his speech, to go to the Capitol. He knew what they were going to do, and he encouraged them to do it. They had inside help, I am sure. The Capitol was lightly manned with protection and the warnings that was conveyed was disregarded. While grocery shopping, I heard two men talking, not loudly but slightly louder than normal. They were talking about a civil war and how the election was stolen, etc. I did not confront them, my wife and I got what we were in the area for and walked on. I noticed others looking at them and they also walked on.

               Our country is divided and if that seam of contention is not sewn together, we will fall. It reminds me of the book ‘The Fall of the Roman Empire’. Looking back at history and, in most cases history can and will repeat itself, I find that the downfall of the nations is done through division. Like in a combat situation, divide and conquer. Because the President can not be a dictator or supreme ruler, he wants to take the nation down and his followers can not see this nor do they have sense enough to care. His followers, especially those in government (Congress, staffers, etc.) should be investigated, fined, and jailed as soon as possible.

This Pandemic

Whether you want to believe it or not the pandemic is still with us and is, believe it or not, getting worst. Sure, a vaccine is on the horizon, but it is not here yet and exactly how it will be distributed have not been determined, so far. Even after the serum distribution start it will be a long while before most of us are in line to get it, maybe in the middle of next year.

               The thing that bother me most are the people that are still calling the pandemic, COVID-19, a hoax. There are people on death’s bed and doctors and nurses have given up on them. Some of the patient’s final words are that the virus is a hoax. There is no hope for them, physically or mentally. I was in Red Lobster and heard a man tell his wife that more people die from the flu than COVID-19. Really?

               Worst than that are the people that go to crowded bars, restaurants, clubs, parties (this includes private and family), rubbing shoulder to shoulder and a face mask is almost unheard of (the Red Lobster was almost empty). The people that does this truly do not care about themselves nor anyone else. Yet, they want this pandemic to be finished without them doing their part to stop it. All that these people want (the vast majority are young) is to party, to have life the way they had it before the pandemic, to do what they want to do when they want to do it.

               Everyone has their rights to privacy and to maintain their own body and life the way they want to do it. However, they do not have the right to endanger someone else life in the process. To contract the virus not only endangers my life but the life of the healthcare workers that are attempting to save the ill person’s life. It is the same as other professions, like the police, when a person is requested not to do a particular thing, the person say they have a right to do it and does it anyway. When things go wrong, they call for help to save them from the thing they were requested not to do therefore putting the professional’s life in jeopardy trying to save them.

               There have been fights, attempted murder, assaults, etc. because someone asked another person to wear a mask. People are heard saying they have a right not to wear a mask, the virus is a hoax, and they are young enough that it will not harm them as much. Most of these people have never been in the military because, in the military, you learn not only to follow orders but to be without things for the good of the whole. You do it without grumbling because you know it will not be forever.

               This pandemic will never end with people disregarding science and recommendations form experts in the medical field (non-political, of course). If everyone had done their part in attempting to stamp out this virus, schools would be safe and have in-school learning, everything else would be back to normal or almost normal and we would be looking toward what is coming next. Thanksgiving was a disaster, and we are almost back to square one.

               We are all suffering through this pandemic, whether you have COVID-19 or not, because life is not what it used to be and never will be. Those of you that call this a hoax, does not want to wear a mask and do not and those of you that whine about the slightest change in your life remember you are not helping the situation. When you get the virus, do not call the doctor call the mortician, because it is a hoax and doctors do not cure hoaxes.

I Am Neither Stupid Nor Dumb

Am I stupid or dumb to believe the President of the United States when he repeatedly says the less testing that is done for COVID-19 the less there is?  He says if fifty percent less people are tested there will be fifty percent less of the virus. Not my words, it is his. You don’t believe me, check it. He said a while ago he did not want more testing so that there would be fewer virus cases. Am I stupid or his supporters that believe in him saying that is smart?  

There are people that say they have a right not to wear a mask or facial covering, whether it is to protect themselves or anyone else. Many people attended COVID parties (parties where known people with COVID attend, and they want to show that it is ‘fake news’ to say it will spread to others) and jam overcrowded emergency hospitals when they contract the virus. I may be crass, but I would put them at the back of the line because of their stupidly, they bought the virus upon themselves willingly. It is like someone jumping off a bridge into a raging river then they want someone to risk their life to save them. Like the person on the bridge, they were told not to do it. Don’t sue me because I did not jump into the water (or attend to your virus emergency) to save you. 

Why is it not attempted murder or attempted bodily harm to go without a mask when you are told it is dangerous not to? Or, intentionally cough onto someone because being told to wear a mask is store policy to shop there. When HIV first started and the same thing would occasionally happen, the person was charged. Why not now? Why is it so hard to understand wearing a covering will in some way abate the spread of the virus? Sure, people have a right but not a right to endanger others. You have a right to walk wherever you please but not in the middle of a roadway or highway, etc.  

The President is not a doctor. If I had a bodily ailment, I would ask the opinion of a doctor, not a mechanic. The President says he knows better than his Generals, Dr. Fauci, etc. He cannot prove that to me.  I am not stupid nor dumb therefore I do not believe what he has to say. I will not do as he says and drink bleach, etc. to rid myself of the virus. His supporters may do as they wish and believe everything he says. Just remember, he is only for himself and want his people to believe he knows everything. 

He surrounds himself with people that is loyal to only him, believe what he says, will do what he says without question and, when they do not, he replaces them with someone that does. Look at his cabinet and Congress. Look at the party, governors and others. Look where the virus is spreading. Those areas that have taken a strong stand against the words of the President are seeing a reduction in the spread of the virus. We will not get a firm grip on this virus until the current President is gone with his Congressional supporters in tow. I want to live, not die, and this President is killing thousands with his words and actions. I am neither stupid nor dumb. I can see what is happening.

Think Of Others

All my life I have tried to be compassionate toward others and think how I would feel if someone would do this or that toward me. There are people that feel the same way, however, there are those that think only of themselves and not of others until it concerns them or a member of their family. Normally, these people are affiliated with a sect or movement that have the same mind set.

I understand the demonstrations for reopening the cities and states that are closed because of the COVID-19 virus. I understand that businesses are hurting because they cannot operate. I understand that people want to work because they live from paycheck to paycheck and they have bills to pay and need food on the table. I also understand the local and state governments that have closed most facilities in order to attempt to stop the virus and deaths.

I am not going to try to explain what the federal government is doing because, as they have said, they do not believe the data or science and the states are on their own. I do not want to be too quick to take the chance of living or dying by getting back to normal too soon. I have fought in Viet Nam and a few other small conflicts and have survived. I have also been through isolation while performing my military duties and have survived. Some of the military duties were much worse than the stay-at-home rule that is in force today.

While researching the forces behind these demonstrations I have found they are funded and condoned by the GOP and their big money donors. Extreme illness or death is not a good tradeoff for financial gain. The push behind reopening everything is political. Good financial business gives the GOP a good standing for the upcoming elections, or so they think.

While watching the news on television I heard more than one interviewed demonstrator say they did not care about other people, they only wanted to go where they wanted to go and have fun. They even said that the other people had to take care of themselves because they will do whatever they wanted to do. They are not responsible for whatever will happen to others.

So, in a nutshell, we are all in this together. Not only the USA but the world. With the virus spreading, travel is out of the question. With the spreading virus, state-to-state travel is dangerous. With the spread of the virus everyone is still in danger of falling ill and dying. I was a city police officer and have seen people disregard a restriction because they wanted to have their way. They were the first one to call for help when things went wrong and wanted people to risk their life to save them.

I wonder what these demonstrators would say if they were denied care, when they fall ill from the virus, when they disregard the safe distance rule and the stay-at-home rule. They should not have their cake and eat it too. If they disregard all rules and do whatever they want to do, should a life be at risk to save them?

DO NOT INGEST ANY TYPE OF DISINFECTANT FOR ANY REASON. The life you save maybe your own!

Ethnic Pandemic

Listening to the pandemic report the other day, I was taken aback by the report of Blacks having the ailment more so than other ethnic groups. I believe it is because the black people, most of the time, segregate themselves into one large area over another. Most of these areas you can call a food desert.
These areas are not only apartment housing but there are many single-family housings with minimal scattering of other ethnic groups. In this area, rarely will there be medical offices, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc. Where these places are is far from the areas where people live. When there is an illness, transportation is required to transit the long distance.
Then there is that most young people, across all ethnic groups, rarely (if at all) read or listen to the daily news. They rather tweet or text others and maybe they may hear something that is going on, usually from someone much older. Ask a young person about a worldly event and the answer usually is that they haven’t heard anything about it. In this way, they knew of the pandemic much later than others. They could have been a carrier or have the full-blown virus and never knew it was possible or what was happening to them.
Young people love to party and take chances. They normally say that it’ll never happen to them or they are careful and there is nothing to worry about. The President would not demand a national wearing of face masks but, instead, left it to the individual states to impose the law. When the states imposed the law most young people disregarded the order. When the states demanded social distancing among all people and establishments, most young people didn’t do it.
I’ll give you an example about what I am talking about. I had to go out (one of the very few times I ventured out) to make a quick pick-up. In the store I noticed a Latino couple with three kids. They didn’t have a face mask and the kids were loudly running and playing all over the store. A couple of times the kids ran into me while they were playing. The parents did not say anything. At the check-out, two people were working, one had a mask and one did not. Neither had gloves. I noticed a few Blacks shopping, not a mask to be seen. Ironically, all of the White shoppers had masks.
The pandemic is hitting the Black population hard but, from what I have witnessed, most can blame it on lack of caring for themselves and others. They can be a part of the solution by trying to protect themselves and others. To do this, at least wear a mask (factory made or homemade) and practice social distancing. If we all work together, maybe we can beat this virus sooner than later and save a few lives. Young people, no matter what ethnic group they belong, can catch this virus and, at worst, die. Babies as well as adults, no matter the age or health, have also caught it. Be smart and live.

Let’s Come Together

COVID-19 is not “Fake News” nor is it something that is overblown to make the President look bad. It is serious business and everyone, both sides of the aisle, should come together and fight with everything available. We have, in the past, stood together and fought things that were harming the nation. In this case, it is harming the entire world and every nation in the world should join forces and fight this virus.
Today’s blog will not be long, I just want people, around the world, to listen to qualified health professionals and stop the spread of the virus. Politicians have said that we will have a cure in a few weeks but, if you listen closely, health professionals have said it will take many months. I tend to believe them instead of politicians.
Unfortunately, normal routines will be disrupted, and, for a short while, life will seem hard, if not unbearable. But life will go on and this too will pass, maybe not exactly as before but it will be better than a quarantine. I wrote in my other blog (www.faithingodministries.net) about coming pandemics and those of the ancient past. This too will pass, but we all, worldwide, must do our parts. Not one person knows it all and not one person can do it all. We all must come together and work together to beat this no matter your politics or faith.
All daily routines will seem tedious at best but if we put politics aside and do what is right, what is good for the nation, what is good for the world, we will live on to see another day. If we continue to let politics get in the way, many of us will perish, many may not be able to fight and there will be a different world.
Therefore, I am pleading with everyone to take this virus seriously and do the right things. Listen to the medical people and seriously do the things you are told. Be careful and hang in there. This COVID-19 is nothing to play with or to take for granted.
